Susan Sarandon stars as Annie, a dedicated fan of a minor league baseball team that has a tradition of choosing one player each season to sleep with. Her most recent choice has been narrowed down to the talented but inconsistent hotshot (Tim Robbins) and the veteran on his way out in the sport (Kevin Costner).
The trio of actors brings these characters to life, with Robbins playing the goofball character quite well, as Costner and Sarandon have electrifying chemistry. Before cementing himself with tough guy roles, Costner proves himself a great comedic talent, sharing funny banter with Robbins as he enjoys making a fool out of the arrogant and inexperienced younger player.
