Travis Fimmel’s role inDune: Prophecyis quite similar to his character Ragnar Lothbrok inVikings, since they are both accomplished warriors. It is great to see Fimmel in a role like this again, since he embodied Ragnar so well for four seasons ofVikings. Fimmel led thecast ofVikingsas Ragnar Lothbrok for the first four seasons of the show, before his shocking death. InVikings, Fimmel played a farmer who rose up to become a Scandinavian king.

Throughout his time onVikings,Fimmel received a lot of acclaim for his role of Ragnar.Vikingshas an impressive score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the four seasons that feature Ragnar as the main character are generally viewed as thebest seasons ofVikings. Travis Fimmel Gets To Play A Ragnar-Like Character In Dune: Prophecy

Desmond Hart Is Similar To Ragnar Lothbrok

InDune: Prophecy, Travis Fimmelportrays Desmond Hart, a seasoned warrior who has survived several tours on Arrakis. In episode 1 ofDune: Prophecy, Desmond Hart meets with Emperor Corrino, stating that he was the only survivor of a recent attack on Arrakis. While it is easy to draw similarities between Hart and Duncan Idaho from theDunemovies,it appears that Desmond Hart has more villainous qualities to him. InDune: Prophecy, Hart claimed that the attack on Arrakis was not by Fremen, and was actually orchestrated by the Emperor’s supposed allies.

While Ragnar could be a vicious, brutal character, Hart seems to be taking things a step further in his villainy.
