Jurassic World’sintroduction to Blue’s velociraptor pack marked a new milestone for theJurassic Parkfranchise, asraptors are the first dinosaurs to show a bond with a human.Jurassic Worldisthe franchise’s highest grossing movie, earning $652 million at the box office.Chris Pratt’sJurassic Worldtrilogyrevitalized the franchise, which had not released a movie sinceJurassic Park IIIin 2001, by introducing audiences to new types of genetically modified dinosaurs, such as the Indominus Rex and the Indoraptor.

However, the dinosaurs which stole the movie were the velociraptors. Having trained with the pack since their birth,Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady has a special bond with the velociraptors, and they often come to his aid. This was an unexpected change in direction, as the velociraptors inJurassic Parkwere cunning antagonists. Considering there are five different raptors in theJurassic Worldmovies, it can be hard to keep track of what happened to them, and if they might return inJurassic World 4.

Jurassic World 4: 10 Existing Dinosaurs That Should Finally Get To Show How Powerful They Are

With Jurassic World 4 approaching, it’s time to consider which dinosaurs from the franchise’s previous four movies deserve more screen time.

1Blue

Status: Alive

InJurassic World,Blue and her pack are released into the park under Owen’s command, to find the escaped Indominus Rex. However, the Indominus became the pack’s new alpha due to their shared raptor DNA. Owen eventually regains Blue’s bond and, as the oldest, she leads her pack to attack the hybrid until the Mosasaurus kills it. Following this, the dinosaurs are abandoned on the island inJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which is pending a volcanic eruption. Owen and Claire return to the island to track down Blue, but unfortunately Blue is shot and taken to the Lockwood estate.

Blue is named for her unique blue-coloured skin. As an infant, she also had a blue bracelet on in footage seen inJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Later in the film, a recovered Blue saves Owen, Claire and Maisie from the Indoraptor, spearing it on an Agujaceratops’ skull, before running into the wilderness with the other dinosaurs. Four years later,Blue asexually reproduces and the offspring is named Beta by Maisie, who Owen and Claire are secretly raising. After Beta and Maisie are kidnapped, Owen and Claire leave Blue behind to rescue them, however, Blue and Beta are reunited at theend ofJurassic World: Dominionand run off into the wilderness once again.

2Delta

Status: Killed By The Indominus Rex

Delta is the second oldest of the pack and joins Blue in serving the Indominus Rex inJurassic Worldafter the raptors realize that they share DNA.Delta is distinctly larger and has a different head from the other raptors in the pack, due to the extra nodules near the nose and eyes, making her bare resemblance to thelarge velociraptors inJurassic Park. As an infant, she was marked with a yellow bracelet, and this can be seen inJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

She looks at what she wants. Usually what she wants to eat.

After the Indominus Rex becomes her new alpha, Delta chases Claire and her nephews, who are speeding away in a truck. In the scene,Gray and Zach Mitchell use an electric prod to stun Delta after she manages to kill an injured InGen soldier. She appears later in the film, pursuing Claire, Owen, and the boys into the Hammond Creation Lab, where she follows through onJurassic World’searlier foreshadowing and kills Hoskins, the head of InGen security. When Owen regains Blue’s trust, Delta joins Blue in attacking the Indominus Rex, who unfortunately throws her into a restaurant, which explodes.

3Charlie

Status: Killed By An InGen Soldier

Charlie is the youngest of the raptors inJurassic Worldand is also the first to be killedin the movie. Her death is possibly the saddest dinosaur death inJurassic Worldbecause of its sudden nature. Following the Indominus Rex’s position as the new alpha of the group,Charlie helps the pack in killing the humans that were trying to stop the Indominus. Charlie pounces on an InGen security trooper and drags him away into some long grass, where she kills him.

Before her death, Charlie and her trainer share a brief moment as neither one moves to kill the other, showing their genuine bond.

However, while eating the trooper, she looks up to find Owen lowering his gun. Before her death, Charlie and her trainer share a brief moment as neither one moves to kill the other, showing their genuine bond. However, the moment is cut short as a sudden missile launches from the darkness, killing her.

4Echo

Echo is the third oldest of Blue’s pack and has a brown hue to her skin. The raptor is set apart from the other raptors in Blue’s pack due to Echo’s defining feature, a scar on the left side of her muzzle. Echo’s scar was discussed in anEmpireinterview with Glen Mcintosh,Jurassic World’sILM Animation Supervisor, who explained that: “Echo has a scar across her muzzle, from when she tried to usurp Blue and got bitten. She had to go into reconstructive surgery and her jaw is offset — we nicknamed her Elvis because she has an Elvis-like sneer.”

At the beginning ofJurassic World, an employee falls into the raptors’ paddock trying to capture an escaped pig. Echo is the one who snatches the pig up and causes him to fall. Echo is also the one who joins Delta in chasing Claire and her nephews in the truck, however, she is thwarted in her attempt by Claire who drives Echo into a tree. When Owen is reinstated as the pack’s alpha,Delta and Echo launch an attack on the Indominus Rex to avenge an unconscious Blue. After Delta is incinerated, the Indominus Rex kills Echo by throwing her.

5Beta

Beta is the offspring of Blue and appears inJurassic World’sthird film,Jurassic World: Dominion. While not officially part of Blue’s pack that was trained by Owen, she has become part of Blue’s new pack following the death of her old one.Beta is a lot smaller than the other velociraptors in Blue’s pack as she is still a juvenile, and shares a lot of traits with Blue, including her mother’s bond with Owen and Maisie.
