Why Boyd Didn’t Tell Ellis About Having Parkinson’s Disease

He Did Not Want To Worry Ellis

Even though Parkinson’s is usually not hereditary, since both Boyd and his father have it,Boyd worries about it being passed down to Ellis too. In season 1, Boyd’s focus on Ellis is repairing their relationship due to the strain between them since the death of Abby (Lisa Ryder). He does not want to worry Ellis in season 1, and he has not seen a reason to worry him about it since then, especially given the increasing number of problems they have faced.

It is a difficult conversation to have, but it is another important step forward for Boyd and Ellis in fully repairing their relationship and being completely honest with each other.
