HBO head of drama Francesca Orsi has discussed the future status ofEuphoriaafter the show’s upcoming season 3. Following the conclusion of season 2,Euphoria season 3was delayed indefinitely, meaning the show didn’t go into production in December 2023, as initially planned. The burgeoning careers of some of the series' main stars, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Coleman Domingo has made it difficult to find the right schedule, butthe show finally entered production for season 3 in January 2025, and filming is currently underway.
PerDeadline,Orsi addresses whether season 3 will mark the end of the hit teen drama, and tells viewers, “I think you will be very satisfied.” She confirms that there have been talks about this marking the end of the series, but that nothing is set in stone at this point. Orsi goes on to state that the season will look to wrap up the characters' narratives and provide the best possible conclusion to the series. Check out her full comments below:
“We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end. I think you will be very satisfied with this season, and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative.”
What These Comments Mean For Euphoria Season 3
The journey to this point has been challenging forEuphoriaseason 3, with rumors Zendaya was unhappy with the original scripts, as well as the death of cast member Angus Cloud, and uncertainty over the scheduling of its stars. However, the show has finally managed to bring everything together, and, from Orsi’s comments, this looks to be the concluding chapter. It does feel like this will be the end forEuphoria, and HBO could well make an official announcement in the coming months. Of course, there is a small chance the show could return in the future, but I would expect it to be years later, if at all. A reboot feels like more of a plausible future for the show than a continuation, but, for now,Euphoriawill be looking to go out with a bang, and ensure that season 3 can tie up loose plot points to ensure a satisfactory conclusion.
