He connects a dark web between Kraintz, Revitalize, The Forge, and Julia Jayne, who nearly takes Muncie’s life and that of his ex-wife, Elena Powell.

Through the eight episodes ofThe Madness, Muncie must avoid being framed for the murder ofMark Simon aka Brother 14and has to navigate a dark web of powerful figures who wish to silence him. Muncie seeks the help of his family totake shelter from the relentless fixer and cold-blooded assassin, Julia Jayne. After Muncie successfully gets Jayne off of his back, he is left to deal with Rodney Kraintz, a majority investor in the company Revitalize. Muncie also tries to patch up his family issues with his son Demetrius and ex-wife Elena, who was nearly killed by Julia trying to protect Muncie.
Julia Jayne was a fixer working for Rodney Kraintz, who is revealed to be a silent minority investor in the company Revitalize.Julia hired Don and Ant to kill Mark on behalf of Rodney Kraintz. Because Muncie was at the wrong place at the wrong time, they framed him for it out of convenience. This is explained to Muncie during his final confrontation with Kraintz, who calls himself a “cog in the machine” and easily expandable at Revitalize. Muncie initially believed that he was targeted to be framed because of his role as an activist and CNN contributor and for being the son of an infamous activist.

Julia Jayne is one of the biggest villains inThe Madnessand an extension of Rodney Kraintz’s will. Jayne was not only a cold-blooded assassin who bent to the will of Rodney Kraintz but she also was a financial investor in Revitalize. She single-handedly killed the most characters in the entire series and is responsible for the deaths of Laura Jennings, Stu Magnusson, Stu’s bodyguard Raul, Don Sloss Jr., and Noah Park. She almost killed Elena as well with two near-fatal gunshots, butElena ultimately got the best of her and took her out at the beginning ofThe Madness’sfinale episode.
Another Revitalize investor, Stu Magnusson, worked closely with Rodney Kraintz and his eventual murderer, Julia Jayne. Despite his connection to Mark Simon and thewhite supremacist group known as The Forge,he was not a member of The Forge and neither was Julia Jayne. Stu and Kraintz were both majority owners of Revitalize who paid Mark Simon to influence elections and public opinion, meaning that Mark Simon was basically a shill spreading propaganda online for profit. Simon has more than 5 million followers online and was starting to use his influence to establish his own political footing, so Revitalize took him out.

Ultimately, Muncie was framed by circumstance by Rodney Kraintz and Revitalize and Julia was hired to kill him. Julia initially set up Mark Simon’s assassination andMuncie haphazardly became a witness and therefore a loose end that Jayne had to cover up. Julia became a driving force of the action inThe Madnessever since she showed up at Mark Simon’s doorstep to confront him and his wife. Julia has zero redeeming qualities and even threatens Muncie’s kids, showing a heartless determination that makes her ultimate death satisfactory and well-deserved inThe Madness.

While on a work sabbatical in the Poconos to write the great American novel, Muncie finds himself the only witness to the murder of a well-known white supremacist, and now he’s being framed for the crime. Muncie is forced to go on the run in a desperate fight to clear his name and unravel a global conspiracy before time runs out. Along the way he’ll reconnect with his family, find unlikely allies, and fight against disinformation in a post-truth age.
