Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: A New Legacy #1!Star Warshas no shortage of skilled warriors capable of taking on eventhe deadliest Sith Lord in the galaxy, though there’s one character in particular who has always proven herself capable, but not at this level. Indeed, this character not only went toe-to-toe with a top-rank Sith Lord, but actually came out on top. And the craziest part? She doesn’t even wield the Force.
InStar Wars: A New Legacy#1 “The Grand Imperial Jubilee” by Charles Soule and Ramon Rosanas, the Emperor is holding a party, and the wealthiest, most influential people/aliens in the galaxy are invited. Not only that, but priceless works of art and ancient artifacts are on display for everyone to admire, includingthe Mask of Darth Momin. The Mask of Darth Momin is cursed with the ancient Sith Lord’s essence, and when a feeble-minded Stormtrooper puts it on, Darth Momin possesses him, and effectively comes back to life, only to crash Palpatine’s big party - literally.

Momin wasn’t just a Sith during his life, but also an artist, and one of his pieces is on display. However, Momin isn’t credited, and upon seeing the ‘artist unknown’ plaque on his artwork, the Sith Lord completely loses it. So, the Imperial guards spring into action, including one who Moff Tarkin personally assigns to take Darth Momin down: Ellian Zahra. Without hesitation, Zahra pulls out her energy blade, stabs Momin, and knocks his mask off the Stormtrooper, thereby returning the Sith Lord to his ‘grave’.
Star Wars’ Zahra Killing Darth Momin is a Truly Impressive Feat
Darth Momin Almost Beat Darth Vader in a Lightsaber Duel
Ellian Zahra is nothing more than a human Imperial who was taken under Governor Tarkin’s wing before the creation of the Death Star. That is what makes her victory over Darth Momin so impressive, as she didn’t use a lightsaber or even have access to the Force when she took down this Sith Lord - a Sith Lord who once nearly defeated Darth Vader.
Darth Momin helped Darth Vader build Fortress Vader on Mustafar, complete with a portal to a ‘Sith Netherrealm’, through which Darth Momin’s spirit was able to travel into the physical world, allowing him to be fully resurrected. After Darth Momin came back to life, he battled Darth Vader, and nearly killed him. While he was unsuccessful, merely almost defeating Vader is a feat almost no one can claim, making Momin one of those select few. Which, in turn, makes Zahra’s victory over Momin that much more impressive.

Zahra is Leia’s Personal Nemesis During Star Wars’ Original Trilogy
Zahra taking down Momin in this issue also confirms exactly why she was such a threat to the Rebellion, and to Leia Organa specifically. In Marvel Comics’ 2020Star Warsseries,Zahra becomes something of a personal nemesis to Leia, as Zahra blames Leia for the destruction of the Death Star and the death of her mentor, Tarkin. No matter how many times Leia and her allies defeated Zahra (even after Leia beat Zahra one-on-one inStar Wars#24), Zahra just kept coming back. And now, it’s fully revealed why, as Zahra proved herself to be a literal Sith-killing warrior.
