After previously being set to make hisMarvel Cinematic Universedebut, a famous WWE star has given a major update about hisCaptain America: Brave New Worldappearance. The road to Sam Wilson’s solo film inthe MCU timelinehas been a long one following multiple delays forCaptain America: Brave New World. While there have been many creative changes behind the scenes, another major one has just been revealed for the Phase 5 installment.
During an appearance onINSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, WWE’s Seth Rollins was asked about the status of his appearance inCaptain America: Brave New World. With the movie arriving in theaters next month,Rollins confirmed that his character will not be popping up in the final cut forCaptain America: Brave New World, as he revealed the following:

Seth Rollins: It releases in February, I wish it the best but…I am not a part of that film. Truth be told, any answer I gave would only be my opinion on it.The script went through a lot of rewrites and reshoots so what I was there to do, essentially my role got either repurposed or completely erased. So I did do a bit of an audition to possibly pop into another role, I believe, or the repurposing of my role, I’m not exactly sure on what it was, but they ended up going in a different direction with it. My understanding was there were just a lot of rewrites and a lot of reshoots. They know they’ve got a finished product that hopefully they’re happy with, and hopefully it’s successful, but it will be sans Seth Rollins.
I’m not in the movie. I will say, unequivocally that I am not in the film, I don’t want anybody to go to the film thinking, ‘I’m here to see Seth Rollins,’ there might be two people who would do that, but I don’t want those two people to waste their time. I don’t want to misinform anybody or lead anybody astray. I am not in the film. It should be a good one. Marvel does a great job.

What Seth Rollins' Captain America: Brave New World Comments Mean For The Phase 5 Movie
While Rollins understandably couldn’t reveal any story details about his character intheCaptain America: Brave New Worldcast, this revelation does once again bring up the idea that the movie has faces some challenges. Even though reshoots are common for any major Hollywood blockbuster, the number of times that theCaptain America: Brave New Worldproduction appears to have tweaked things does seem notable. If reports are to be true about theCaptain America: Brave New Worldtest screenings, it would appear that the movie has faced some creative obstacles.
However, the many reportedCaptain America: Brave New Worldreshootsandrewrites are also arguably Marvel Studios' way of wanting to make this film as strong as it possibly can be. With this being the firstCaptain Americamovie sinceCaptain America: Civil War, while also having a new hero carrying the legacy, the stakes are definitely high with this film. Whether or not Marvel Studios or anyone from theCaptain America: Brave New Worldteam will elaborate on why Rollins' character was cut remains to be seen.

Our Take On Seth Rollins' Captain America: Brave New World Comments
Based on everything Rollins revealed about not being part of the finalCaptain America: Brave New Worldcut, his disappointment is perfectly understandable, and it would have been fascinating to see who he would have actually played in the film. However, there is always the possibility that Rollins will get his MCU shot later down the line in a future project. But for now, time will tell if all these changes made toCaptain America: Brave New Worldwill lead to a critically and commercially successful product for Marvel Studios.
